Galvanised steel enclosure for indoor line

The Wiegmann SC-G series enclosure is built from 14 ga galvanised steel with a solid cover and screw closure. It carries NEMA 1, CSA Certified and cULus listings for indoor electrical distribution. Embossed mounting holes and included self-tapping screws simplify wall mounting for contractors and panel builders.

NEMA 1 rating limits use to dry indoor environments

The enclosure is rated NEMA 1, so it protects against incidental contact and falling dirt but not against water, oil or corrosive agents. Usable opening depth is 7.88 in, which restricts the size of internal components and wiring bends. Installers must ensure the mounting surface can support the unit and that the screw-on cover remains accessible for inspection.

24 in by 24 in footprint

The cubic space accommodates typical breaker panels, terminal strips and modest control gear for light commercial or residential service. Very large contactors, multi-row DIN-rail assemblies or deep transformers may exceed the available depth or width. Builders needing greater capacity or outdoor-rated protection should select a larger or higher-rated enclosure.

Questions about this item

Which SC-G series enclosure matches a 24 in height and 8 in depth requirement?

The SC242408GNK provides exactly 24 in height and 8 in depth with a 24 in width, giving a square footprint for wall-mount layouts.

What does the 14 ga galvanized steel rating mean for daily protection?

14 ga galvanized steel delivers rigid sidewalls that resist impacts and corrosion, while the NEMA 1 rating keeps dust and incidental contact away from installed components.

How do the captive plated steel screws and cULus listing affect installation?

Captive plated steel screws stay with the cover so they cannot be lost, and the cULus listing confirms the enclosure meets UL and CSA safety standards for electrical enclosures.
