Wiring Trough 4x4x12 Gray

The Wiegmann wiring trough is a screw-cover enclosure built from 16-gauge carbon steel with an ANSI 61 gray polyester powder finish. It measures 4 inches high, 4 inches wide and 12 inches deep and carries a NEMA 3R rating for indoor or outdoor use. Mounting holes and screws are included for quick installation.

Suits NEMA 3R wire protection

This trough suits installers who need a UL- and CSA-listed raceway to protect and route cables in damp or dusty environments. It is not for applications that require a hinged or transparent cover, larger cross-section for bigger cable bundles, or a higher NEMA rating such as 4 or 4X.

16-gauge carbon steel construction

The single specification that decides fit is the 16-gauge carbon steel body with ANSI 61 gray finish. This thickness and material set the mechanical strength, corrosion resistance and NEMA 3R performance envelope for the installation.

Questions about this item

How is the Wiegmann wiring trough installed and what step do people often miss?

Mount the 4 in by 4 in by 12 in carbon steel enclosure using the pre-drilled mounting holes; the step often missed is securing all screws evenly to maintain the NEMA 3R seal.

What maintenance or replacement will the trough need over time?

The ANSI 61 gray polyester powder finish on the 16 gauge carbon steel may require touch-up if scratched to preserve corrosion resistance.

What limit appears first during sustained use of this wiring trough?

The NEMA 3R rating protects against rain and sleet but not against prolonged submersion or high-pressure water jets.
