Passive 30 AWG twinax cable links two SFP+ ports at 10 Gbps over 6.56 ft
This passive twinax cable carries 10 Gbps Ethernet or Fibre Channel traffic over a 2-metre run. It plugs directly into SFP+ ports on switches, routers, NAS appliances or server NICs. The 30 AWG copper construction keeps the link simple and power-free. It suits installers who need a short, reliable interconnect without transceivers.
When the distance between two SFP+ ports is two metres or less, this cable removes the cost and complexity of a pair of optics and patch cords. The jump is worth it in rack rows, adjacent cabinets or inside a single chassis where latency and power draw must stay minimal. It is not for runs that exceed the passive reach or for links that require optical isolation.
The assembly meets SFP+ MSA and SFF-8432 so it seats in multi-vendor gear from Cisco, Ubiquiti, Mellanox and others listed in the compatibility table. No external power or configuration is needed, freeing switch power budgets and port density for other connections. The PVC jacket and 0 to 70 °C rating cover standard data-centre environments.

The 30AWG wire gauge keeps the cable slim enough for high-density SFP+ cages, and the passive design adds no bulky electronics to the connector housing.
Insert both SFP+ connectors until they click; the passive twinax requires no drivers or firmware, but verify the switch port is set to 10Gbps rather than auto-negotiate.
Passive copper twinax has no active components to wear out; reseat the connectors during scheduled maintenance and replace only if link errors appear or the PVC jacket shows damage.
