Dual Xeon E5 2696 V2 server board with 64 GB DDR3 REG ECC, M.2 Nvme and Sata
This X79 motherboard kit includes two Xeon E5 2696 V2 processors and 64GB of registered ECC DDR3 memory. It targets professionals who run virtualised workloads or render farms and need multi-threaded throughput on a single board. The dual-socket layout suits compute-heavy tasks that benefit from many physical cores. It is not for buyers who need modern instruction-set extensions or higher single-thread clock speeds.
The board provides an M.2 slot for Nvme drives alongside standard Sata ports so you can mix fast boot media with bulk storage. Installation follows a typical server-board workflow: seat both CPUs, populate the DDR3 slots in the correct channels, then secure the M.2 drive with its retaining screw. A common issue is forgetting to enable the M.2 interface in the BIOS before the drive appears to the operating system.

Enter the system BIOS or UEFI on first boot; the main screen should show two physical processors and the full 64 GB of registered ECC DDR3 memory with no errors reported.
The kit supplies the X79 board, two Xeon E5 2696 V2 processors and 64 GB of DDR3 REG ECC memory; you will need to add your own M.2 NVMe or SATA storage, power supply, chassis and cooling.
