USB 3.0 SATA adapter with 18 TB support

This WRIARICH enclosure turns a 3.5 inch or 2.5 inch SATA I/II/III hard drive or SSD into external USB 3.0 storage. It ships with a 12 V 2 A power adapter, a USB data cable and shock-proof sponges inside the lid. The ABS case includes ventilation holes and an LED activity indicator.

Fits drives up to 18 TB; not for IDE or M.2

The adapter accepts any 3.5 inch or 2.5 inch SATA HDD or SSD up to 18 TB and works with Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, PS4, PS5 and Xbox consoles. It cannot connect IDE, mSATA, M.2 or other non-SATA drives, so buyers needing those interfaces must choose a different product.

5 Gbps USB 3.0 transfer with UASP

The USB 3.0 interface delivers up to 5 Gbps throughput and supports the UASP acceleration protocol, which the supplier says raises read speeds 70 percent higher than traditional ports. Real-world tests show reads up to 500 MB/s and writes up to 450 MB/s, though actual speed varies with the drive and host device.

Questions about this item

Will the 12V 2A power adapter need replacing if I run a 3.5 inch drive continuously?

The included 12V 2A adapter powers 3.5 inch SATA drives up to 18TB; it is a standard barrel connector so a matching replacement can be sourced if the original ever fails.

What limits sustained throughput when I clone a large drive through the USB 3.0 port?

The USB 3.0 link caps at 5Gbps and UASP acceleration is used; real-world reads reach 500MB/s and writes 450MB/s, so the interface is the first bottleneck.

How hot and noisy does the enclosure get during an all-day backup?

The ABS case has large ventilation holes on the bottom and sides for passive cooling; there is no fan, so operation is silent and heat dissipates naturally.
