SATA to USB 3.0 Adapter with UASP

This adapter connects a 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch SATA hard drive or SSD to a USB 3.0 port. It includes a 12V 2A power supply for larger drives. The device supports UASP for improved data throughput on compatible systems. It is suited for technicians and users who need quick external access to bare SATA storage.

For drive access, not permanent installs

The adapter serves well for data recovery, drive imaging, backups and moving files between systems. Laptop owners can add temporary storage without opening the chassis. It is not built for continuous internal mounting or for users who need a dock with drive protection and cable management. Buyers wanting a permanent external enclosure should consider a dedicated case instead.

UASP support on USB 3.0

UASP capability is the specification that determines real-world transfer performance. With a UASP-enabled host the adapter can reach 70 percent faster read and 40 percent faster write speeds over standard USB 3.0 bulk endpoints. Windows 8, Mac OS X 10.8 and newer Linux kernels support the protocol. Without UASP the link falls back to regular USB 3.0 speeds.
