Connects 2.5" or 3.5" SATA HDD, SSD or optical drives via USB 3.0 with UASP support and includes a 12V 2A power adapter
This adapter connects a 2.5" or 3.5" SATA SSD or HDD to a USB 3.0 port on a laptop or desktop. It includes a 12V 2A power adapter so larger desktop drives receive enough current. The device suits anyone who wants to add external storage, clone a drive, or recover files from an old internal disk without opening the computer case.
The adapter supports the UASP protocol, which can deliver up to 70% faster read and 40% faster write speeds than standard USB 3.0 on systems that also support UASP. A gold-finger connector and high-temperature-resistant tape help maintain signal integrity during extended transfers. The short cable keeps the setup tidy on a desk while the external power brick handles the 3.5" drive spin-up current.
This cable replaces the need for a spare internal SATA bay or a bulky drive dock when you only need occasional access to bare drives. It is not suited for users who want a permanent multi-bay enclosure or a tool-less hot-swap tray for daily drive swaps. The jump is worth it when you need a portable, single-drive solution that works across Windows 8, Mac OS X 10.8 or above, and Linux without driver installation.

The adapter uses USB 3.0 with a 5 Gbps ceiling; when the host also supports UASP, real-world reads can reach 70 % higher and writes 40 % higher than standard USB 3.0.
It accepts both 2.5" and 3.5" SATA drives; the included 12 V 2 A power adapter is required for 3.5" units and optional for 2.5" models.
Plug the SATA connector into the drive, attach the USB 3.0 cable to the computer, then connect the 12 V 2 A power adapter to the unit and a mains socket — forgetting the external power brick is the common mistake.
