20×16×8 Carbon Steel Junction Box IP66

This carbon steel enclosure measures twenty by sixteen by eight inches and provides IP66 ingress protection. It suits installers who need a robust wall‑mount box for indoor or outdoor electrical equipment.

IP66 limits dust and water ingress

The IP66 rating guarantees total dust exclusion and protection against powerful water jets from any direction. It does not certify submersion, high‑pressure steam cleaning or resistance to corrosive chemicals beyond the epoxy polyester coating.

1.5 mm cold‑rolled steel thickness

The 1.5 mm (0.059 in) cold‑rolled steel body with powder coating determines structural rigidity and corrosion resistance. Builders requiring thicker gauge metal or a different material must choose another enclosure.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 20×16×8 inch size or a different dimension for my installation?

The enclosure measures 20 by 16 by 8 inches and includes a 2 mm galvanised back-plate plus four rear mounting holes, so select this size when those exact internal clearances and wall-mount points match your equipment layout.

What does the IP66 rating actually protect against once the box is mounted on a wall?

IP66 means the enclosure is dust-tight and withstands powerful water jets, so rain, snow, hose-down spray and oil splash cannot enter and damage the installed PCB boards, terminals or other components.

How does the IP66 rating relate to the IP65 mention in the title, and what is the practical limit?

The product carries an IP66 rating, which exceeds IP65 by adding protection against strong water jets; the practical limit is high-pressure directed spray, not continuous submersion.
