USB 2.0 extender over Cat5e to Cat7

This powered extender carries four USB 2.0 ports up to 196 feet over a single Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a or Cat7 cable. It operates at up to 480 Mbps and works with Windows, macOS, Android and Linux without any driver installation. The transmitter draws power from the host USB port while the receiver uses a locking 12 V DC adapter.

Four ports with 1 A current rating

Each port can deliver up to 1 A at 12 V, enough for keyboards, mice, webcams and similar peripherals. Two webcams can run simultaneously when used with compatible software. The link is rated for USB 2.0 speeds and will not support USB 3.x or higher bandwidth devices.

IP54 rated for dust and splash resistance

The compact 3.54 x 2.8 x 0.98 inch enclosure carries an IP54 rating and includes mounting ears for fixed installations. Surge protection and ESD ratings of ±8 kV air and ±4 kV contact help protect connected equipment. A single power supply serves both ends, reducing cable clutter in industrial or conference-room deployments.

Questions about this item

Can the IP54-rated receiver sit near my older Cat5e patch panel without signal loss?

The extender carries USB 2.0 up to 196 ft over Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a or Cat7, so an existing Cat5e patch panel works within that distance.

How do I confirm the 480 Mbps link is active after connecting two webcams?

Both cameras will stream simultaneously; the push-button actuator on the receiver lets you toggle ports and verify each feed.

Does the box include the lockable 12 V DC adapter for the receiver, or must I source it separately?

The lockable 12 V DC power adapter for the receiver is included; the transmitter draws power from the host USB port.
