Universal 12 V power adapter
The XYY12001000 supplies regulated 12 V DC at up to 1 A for devices that draw between 100 mA and 1000 mA. It accepts AC input from 100 V to 240 V at 50 Hz to 60 Hz, so it works on mains supplies worldwide. Ten swappable plug tips are included to match a variety of barrel connectors. The adapter is CE and FCC certified and provides overcurrent, overvoltage, short-circuit and over-temperature protection.
Capacity and headroom for low-current 12 V devices
The 12 W output comfortably powers routers, LED strips, CCTV cameras and similar equipment that stays at or below 1 A. If a device requires more than 1000 mA the adapter will hit its current limit and protection will activate. The fixed 12 V output cannot be adjusted for other voltages. Builders needing higher current or a different voltage must choose a different supply.
Practical limits of the barrel-connector interface
The standard tip is 5.5 mm outer diameter by 2.5 mm inner diameter with positive centre polarity; the kit also covers 2.1 mm inner-diameter variants. Polarity cannot be reversed, so devices with negative-centre sockets are not compatible. Only the ten supplied tips are available; proprietary or non-standard connectors will not fit. The corded electric input and output cables are fixed and not user-replaceable.
