Transmits 1080p HDMI up to 200 metres over a single CAT5e or CAT6 cable with IR control and loop-out
This transmitter sends 1080p HDMI video and audio up to 200 metres over a single CAT5e or CAT6 cable using standard TCP/IP. It connects to a network switch so one source can reach multiple receivers in point-to-multipoint or cascade layouts. The unit includes an HDMI loop-out for a local display and supports IR remote control at 38 kHz NEC protocol. Plug-and-play hardware requires no software installation.
Standard HDMI cables fail beyond a few metres, so this extender is the step up when the display must sit far from the source. The jump is worth it for digital-signage rows, classroom projectors or multi-room AV where a single computer or player feeds many screens. H.264 encoding at 8.1 Mbps keeps bandwidth modest while preserving 480p, 720p or 1080p resolution. Audio carries at 32, 44.1 or 48 kHz sample rates.
The extender tops out at 1080p resolution and relies on 802.3 Ethernet switches, so it cannot transport 4K, HDR or higher refresh rates. Bandwidth is fixed at 8.1 Mbps, which restricts use to typical presentation or signage content rather than high-motion video. CAT5e works but CAT6 is recommended for the full 200 metre reach. Buyers needing 4K distribution, fibre links or HDCP 2.2 handshake management should look elsewhere.
