4K HDMI Extender with Loop-Out

This YINGHUA extender transmits 4K video up to 120 metres over a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable. It includes a local HDMI loop-out so the source display stays active while the signal travels to the remote screen. Both transmitter and receiver provide 3.5 mm stereo audio outputs for separate sound routing. The unit is powered from a UK plug supply.

Cat5e and Cat6 distance limits

Cat5e cable supports the full 120 metre reach at 1080p resolutions, while Cat6 is recommended for reliable 4K transmission at 30 Hz. The link tops out at 340 MHz bandwidth and 3.4 Gbps per lane, so higher refresh rates or deeper colour depths are not possible. Signal quality depends on cable grade and installation routing.

Resolution headroom and constraints

The extender comfortably handles 3840×2160 at 30 Hz and all common 1080p, 720p and 480p formats for consoles such as PS5, PCs and laptops. It cannot pass 4K at 60 Hz, HDR metadata or multi-channel audio beyond stereo. Buyers needing 4K 60 Hz, longer runs or HDBaseT features will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

Which connection type should I pick for the 120 m run, CAT5e or CAT6?

The extender works with either CAT5e or CAT6 cable; CAT6 is recommended for the full 120 metre distance and best signal integrity.

What resolution and refresh rate can I expect at the far end of the link?

The unit supports up to 3840×2160 at 30 Hz, so 4K content arrives at that frame rate over the 120 metre CAT6 run.

What bandwidth does the HDMI link provide and what does it limit?

The link runs at 340 MHz pixel clock with 3×3.4 Gbps data lanes, capping the maximum video format to 4K at 30 Hz and preventing higher refresh rates or deeper colour depths.
