Connects a 2.5" SATA drive to USB 3.0 with 5 Gb/s theoretical speed and hot-swap support
The YINGHUA T22 connects a 2.5 inch SATA hard drive or SSD to a USB 3.0 port. It uses an IS621 or JM578 bridge chip inside an ABS plastic enclosure. The cable supports USB 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1 speeds. The unit is supplied new.
Users who want to access a bare 2.5 inch SATA drive without opening a computer case will find this adapter convenient. It supports hot swap so drives can be changed without a reboot. Builders who need 3.5 inch drive support or an internal mounting bracket should look at a different product.
The interface delivers a theoretical maximum of 5 Gb per second over USB 3.0 and falls back to 480 Mb per second on USB 2.0. Actual throughput depends on the drive and the host controller. This single figure determines whether the adapter meets your transfer-time requirements.
Measured against everything we stock in SATA, IDE & M.2 Drive Adapters, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.

The T22 works with any 2.5" mechanical SATA hard drive or SATA solid-state drive.
The 5 GB/s figure is the USB 3.0 interface ceiling; actual transfer rates depend on the connected drive and system overhead.
USB 3.0 caps the link at 5 GB/s theoretical, while the adapter also falls back to USB 2.0 at 480 MB/s and USB 1.1 if needed.
