Purpose-built attendance terminal

The ZKTeco U260 is a dedicated fingerprint time-and-attendance terminal designed for small to medium workforces. It stores up to 3000 fingerprint templates and 100000 transaction records, handling verification in roughly 0.5 seconds. The 3-inch colour TFT screen provides a graphical interface for enrolment and daily clocking. Network connectivity via RS232/485, TCP/IP and USB-client suits both permanent and ad-hoc installations.

Thermals noise and power

The unit runs on a DC 5V 0.8A supply, drawing minimal power during continuous operation. With no moving parts or active cooling, it operates silently in office environments. The specified operating range of 0 °C to 45 °C and 20% to 80% humidity covers typical indoor conditions without additional climate control. Its compact footprint of 192.3 × 138.8 × 42.7 mm and 1.1 kg weight allow discreet wall or desk mounting.

Bundled software and accessories

The included BioTime software centralises attendance data, enabling work codes, shift scheduling, bell timing and self-service queries. A built-in USB port permits manual data export when the network is unavailable, while the SDK supports custom integration for OEM developers. Optional ID, Mifare or HID card modules, external printer and bell accessories extend functionality, but are not supplied with the base unit. Buyers needing Wi-Fi connectivity or battery backup will find those features absent.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the U260 and connect it to the network, and what wiring step is often missed?

Mount the unit using its 192.3 × 138.8 × 42.7 mm frame, then link it via TCP/IP, RS232/485, or USB-client; the step often missed is providing a separate DC 5V 0.8A power source because the network ports do not supply power.

Which consumable or replaceable part will need attention after extended use?

The ZK Optical Sensor surface should be cleaned periodically to maintain the 0.5 Sec. verification speed; no other user-replaceable consumable is specified for the terminal.

What is the first limit reached during continuous daily operation?

The 100,000 transaction log fills first; once full, new attendance records cannot be stored until the log is exported or cleared via USB or network.
