Product identity

The Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 714 is a 14.0-inch 2-in-1 laptop with a 1920 x 1200 IPS touchscreen running at 120Hz. It ships with an Intel Core Ultra 5 115U 8-core processor, 8GB LPDDR5 memory and a 1TB PCIe SSD. Chrome OS powers the device and Google AI features are integrated for productivity and creativity. The chassis weighs 3.21 lbs and measures .71 inch thin in Steel Gray.

Compatibility check

Memory is soldered at 8GB and cannot be upgraded, so confirm that capacity meets your workload before ordering. The two Thunderbolt 4 ports handle video, data and charging; verify your peripherals and docks use the same interface. WIFI 6E requires a compatible router for full performance. Chrome OS runs web and Android apps; ensure any specialised Windows or macOS software you rely on has a suitable alternative or web version.

Who this suits

This model suits users who want a convertible touchscreen with stylus support for note-taking, sketching or media consumption in a light 3.21 lb frame. The 11-hour battery claim supports all-day unplugged work. Buyers who need more than 8GB of RAM, discrete graphics for 3D rendering or gaming, or a traditional clamshell without moving hinges should look at something else.

Questions about this item

Does the Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 714 come with a protective sleeve or must I buy one separately?

The box includes a protective sleeve, so no separate purchase is needed for basic transport protection.

With 8 GB of soldered LPDDR5 and a 1 TB PCIe SSD, which version should I choose if I need more memory later?

Memory is not upgradable, so choose this configuration only if 8 GB meets your long-term needs; storage can be expanded externally via Thunderbolt 4.

What does the 120 Hz refresh rate on the 14-inch WUXGA touchscreen mean for everyday use?

The 120 Hz panel makes scrolling, inking and video playback noticeably smoother than a standard 60 Hz display, especially with the 16:10 anti-glare IPS screen.
