Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 714 overview

The Acer Chromebook Plus Spin 714 is a 14-inch 2-in-1 laptop running Chrome OS with an Intel Core Ultra 5 115U processor. It has 8GB of soldered LPDDR5 memory and a 256GB PCIe SSD. The 120Hz WUXGA IPS touchscreen offers 1920 x 1200 resolution with anti-glare coating. Two Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 2.0 and Wi-Fi 6E provide connectivity. It weighs 3.21 lbs and measures 0.71 inch thin.

Suited for cloud-first work, not local-heavy tasks

This device suits people who work primarily in the browser, use Android or Linux apps and want AI-assisted productivity features on a bright touchscreen. It is not for buyers who need more than 8GB of memory, require a discrete GPU for rendering or gaming, or depend on Windows-only applications. The soldered RAM and integrated graphics fix the performance ceiling.

8GB soldered LPDDR5 memory decides fit

The single specification that decides whether this is the right part is the 8GB of soldered LPDDR5 memory that cannot be upgraded. If your workload regularly exceeds this capacity — such as heavy multitasking with many tabs, containers or virtual machines — this model will not meet the need. No configuration change can increase it.
