15.6-inch QHD 240Hz gaming laptop

The Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-55-795C-HID9P pairs a 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700H with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti for high-frame-rate play at 2560 x 1440 resolution. Fourteen cores and twenty threads handle heavy workloads alongside gaming. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR5 4800MHz memory and eight terabytes of NVMe storage complete the platform. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed.

Thermals, noise and power draw

Upgraded thermal interface materials applied during customisation lower system temperatures and reduce throttling during sustained CPU and GPU loads. The RTX 3070 Ti operates at a 150W maximum TGP with a 1510MHz boost clock, so fan speeds stay controlled in typical sessions. Burn-in stress testing verifies stable behaviour before shipment. The 14.10 x 10.90 x 0.98~1.02 inch chassis dissipates heat without excessive acoustic output.

Build integration

Dual-channel DDR5 and dual NVMe drives leave no empty slots, freeing the owner from immediate upgrade work. LAN and WLAN connectivity cover wired and wireless networks without extra adapters. At 5.73 lbs the notebook remains portable for LAN events or desk moves. The 15.6-inch 240Hz IPS panel eliminates the need for an external high-refresh monitor in most scenarios.

Questions about this item

How do I add a third M.2 NVMe SSD to the PH315-55-795C, and which step do people miss?

Remove the bottom panel, insert the drive into the empty M.2 PCIe 3.0 x4 slot at an angle, then secure it with the screw; the step often missed is re-enabling the new volume in Windows Disk Management before it appears in File Explorer.

Which component in this Helios 300 will need replacement first under heavy daily use?

The 150 W RTX 3070 Ti and i7-12700H share a vapor-chamber cooler; the thermal interface material on both dies dries out after roughly two years, causing higher core temperatures and fan noise until repasted.

What hardware limit appears first during a long gaming session on the 240 Hz QHD panel?

The GPU hits its 150 W max TGP and 1510 MHz boost ceiling, so frame rates plateau while the CPU still has headroom at 4.7 GHz turbo.
