Acer Nitro 16 WUXGA 180Hz gaming laptop

The Acer Nitro 16 is a 16.0-inch Windows 11 gaming laptop driven by an AMD Ryzen 7 260 octa-core processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 laptop GPU with 8 GB GDDR7 memory. It ships with 16 GB DDR5 memory and a 512 GB PCIe SSD. The 1920 x 1200 display runs at 180 Hz.

Suits 1080p gamers and creators wanting high

This machine suits buyers who want a 180 Hz WUXGA panel, an octa-core Zen 4 CPU and an RTX 5060 GPU in a 5.38-pound chassis. It does not suit buyers who need a fingerprint reader, a full-size SD card slot, a higher-resolution webcam than 720p, more than 16 GB of pre-installed memory or more than 512 GB of factory storage.

Deciding spec: 180 Hz WUXGA display

The single specification that decides fit is the 16-inch 1920 x 1200 180 Hz panel. If your workflow or games benefit from that exact refresh rate and aspect ratio at this size, the laptop matches the requirement; if you need a different resolution, refresh rate or panel size, look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Do I need an external monitor to use the 180 Hz display?

The built-in 16-inch WUXGA panel already runs at 180 Hz, so no external monitor is required for high-refresh gaming.

Will my older USB 3.0 peripherals work with the USB-A 3.2 ports?

Yes, the three USB-A 3.2 ports are backward compatible with USB 3.0 and 2.0 devices.

How can I confirm the RTX 5060 is running at full power after setup?

Open the NVIDIA control panel or GPU-Z and verify the GPU shows 8 GB GDDR7 memory and the expected boost clocks.
