50-metre optical DisplayPort cable for long-run 8K

This 50-metre optical DisplayPort cable carries 8K at 60 Hz and 4K at 144 Hz over a single fibre link. It is built for installers and AV professionals who need reliable video transmission across distances that copper cables cannot cover without signal loss. The cable is backward compatible with 2K and 1080p sources and with the DisplayPort 1.2 standard.

Directional fibre construction

The cable uses a slim, flexible TPE jacket that simplifies in-wall or conduit routing. Connectors are 24K gold-plated for corrosion resistance and durable mating cycles. Because the optical engine is directional, the plugs are marked “Source” and “Display” and must be connected accordingly for the link to function.

Passive optical link with no external power required

The fibre design transmits up to 32.4 Gbps without active electronics at either end, so there is no power adapter to hide and no fan noise. In normal use the cable runs silently and draws no power from the DisplayPort ports, making it suitable for quiet studios, home cinemas or digital-signage runs where heat and noise must stay minimal.

Questions about this item

Does the DisplayPort 1.4 HBR3 interface really deliver the full 32.4Gbps at 50 metres?

Yes, the optical-fibre construction carries the full HBR3 bandwidth of 32.4Gbps over the 50m length, enabling 8K at 60Hz or 4K at 144Hz without signal loss.

What physical space and orientation does the cable need for an in-wall run?

The slim TPE jacket and directional connectors marked Source and Display require a clear path and correct end-to-end orientation before pulling through conduit or walls.

How do I install it so the link actually works?

Connect the Source end to the GPU or source device and the Display end to the monitor; reversing the directional plugs is the common mistake that yields no picture.
