What this cable does
This fiber-optic DisplayPort 1.4 cable carries 32.4Gbps over 16ft between a PC or laptop and a monitor, projector or HDTV. It supports 7680x3840 at 60Hz, 3840x2160 at 144Hz and 240Hz, 3440x1440 at 60Hz and 2550x1440 at 60Hz. Male-to-male 20-pin connectors plug straight into standard DisplayPort sockets.
Build fit and constraints
The slim fiber construction routes through tight conduits and behind in-wall plates without the bulk of copper cables. It needs a DisplayPort 1.4 source and sink; older ports will fall back to their own limits. No external power or active converters are required, freeing a USB port or wall socket that an active copper cable might occupy.
Sustained signal behaviour
Fiber conductors keep the full 8.1Gbps per lane across the entire 16ft run without the attenuation that limits passive copper at this bandwidth. The link stays stable at 8K60 or 4K240 during long sessions, avoiding the sparkles or drop-outs that appear when copper heats up or bends sharply.

Questions about this item
Will the 32.4 Gbps bandwidth sustain 8K at 60 Hz over the full 16 ft length?
Yes, the fiber-optic construction maintains the full 32.4 Gbps HBR3 rate across 16 ft, so 8K 7680x3840 at 60 Hz is supported without signal loss.
Does the cable generate noticeable heat or draw extra power during all-day 4K 144 Hz use?
The optical conductors produce negligible heat and require no external power, so the cable stays cool and draws only the tiny amount supplied by the DisplayPort source.
My monitor and GPU both have standard 20-pin DisplayPort sockets — is anything else needed?
No, the male-to-male 20-pin connectors plug directly into standard DisplayPort 1.4 ports on both devices; no adapters or active converters are required.
