NetShelter 44U Open Frame Rack

The APC AR204A is a 44U four-post open frame rack designed for server rooms and data centres that need unobstructed access to equipment and cabling. It suits administrators who want a sturdy, labelled framework for standard rack-mount hardware without the enclosure of a cabinet.

Capacity and headroom

Forty-four rack units provide space for a dense stack of servers, switches and patch panels, while the #12-24 threaded holes accept common mounting hardware. The open design removes airflow restrictions, but it offers no physical security or dust protection, so environments that require locked doors or filtered intake will need a different solution.

Build integration

Overall dimensions are 83.86" high, 23.63" wide and 29.41" deep, with a weight of 92.20 lbs. Vertical rails are marked with U positions to speed alignment, and stabilization plates can be fitted internally to save floor space or externally for easier access. Floor anchoring points are not described in the data, so installers should verify local requirements.

Questions about this item

Will the 44U height and #12-24 threaded holes match my existing rack-mount servers?

The rack provides 44U of vertical space with #12-24 threaded holes on all vertical rails, the standard spacing for most rack-mount equipment.

How can I confirm the rack is level and correctly assembled after setup?

Each vertical mounting rail is labeled with the actual U positions so you can verify alignment, and the unit dimensions are 83.86" H x 23.63" W x 29.41" D for reference.

Does the package include stabilisation plates or must they be ordered separately?

Stabilisation plates are not included; the rack offers flexible mounting points for plates that can be fitted internally or externally depending on your floor-space needs.
