Designed for 12.9-inch iPad Pro 5th Gen

This genuine Apple Magic Keyboard in Black is built specifically for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro 5th Generation. It provides a full-size typing experience with backlit scissor-switch keys and an integrated trackpad for multi-touch navigation. The floating cantilever design attaches magnetically and offers adjustable viewing angles for work or media consumption. It suits professionals and students who want a laptop-like setup from their tablet.

Passive cooling and low power draw

The keyboard has no fans or active cooling components, so it runs completely silent during use. It draws power directly from the iPad through the Smart Connector, eliminating the need for a separate battery or charging cable for the keyboard itself. The USB-C pass-through port allows the iPad to charge while the keyboard remains attached. This arrangement keeps the combined device cool and quiet in normal productivity workflows.

USB-C pass-through and protective enclosure

The built-in USB-C pass-through port lets you charge the iPad without removing the keyboard, preserving the magnetic connection and viewing angle. The Black enclosure wraps the front and back of the iPad, protecting it from scratches and minor impacts while closed. No additional software or drivers are required; the trackpad and keyboard functions are native to iPadOS. The bundle includes only the keyboard unit itself.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the iPad Pro 12.9 and which step is often missed?

Snap the iPad magnetically to the floating cantilever hinge, then tilt it back until the rear edge rests on the keyboard deck; the step people skip is letting the magnets fully seat before adjusting the angle.

What part will need replacement first with daily typing?

The scissor-switch key mechanisms and trackpad surface are the wear items; heavy use will degrade key feel or tracking accuracy before the hinge or enclosure shows fatigue.

What limits the viewing angle when I keep the iPad propped up for hours?

The cantilever hinge holds a continuous range of angles, but gravity and the iPad's weight set the practical limit — push it too far back and the assembly becomes unstable.
