Compact 1080p streaming for iCloud homes

The Apple TV 3rd Generation delivers 1080p high-definition streaming to any HDTV through HDMI. It runs on a single-core Apple A5 chip with 512 MB RAM and 8 GB SSD storage. Built for households already using iCloud, iTunes Match and Photo Stream, it also includes the Apple Remote and supports the iOS Remote app for phone control.

Silent operation with low power draw

The palm-sized enclosure has no moving parts, so it runs completely silent in normal use. Power consumption stays minimal because the A5 processor is designed for mobile efficiency. The unit only requires its included power supply and a Wi-Fi connection supporting 802.11a/b/g/n standards to stream continuously.

All-in-one box with HDMI and remote

The package includes the streaming unit, Apple Remote and power cable; just add an HDMI cable for the television. The compact footprint fits on any shelf without blocking other ports. Buyers who need expandable local storage or support for newer app platforms will find this model limited by its fixed 8 GB capacity and legacy software base.
