ROG Strix G16 G615JMR Configuration

This ASUS ROG Strix G16 G615JMR is a 16 inch WUXGA gaming laptop built on a 24 core Intel i9-14900HX processor and an NVIDIA RTX 5060 GPU with 8 GB GDDR7 memory. It ships with 96 GB of DDR5 5600MHz dual channel RAM and an 8 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD array configured as two 4 TB drives. Windows 11 Pro is pre installed by the authorised BTO integrator.

Suited for Heavy Multitask and Content Work

The 96 GB memory capacity and 24 core CPU suit creators running virtual machines, large datasets or simultaneous creative suites alongside modern games at 1920 x 1200 resolution. Buyers who only need mainstream gaming performance or prefer a lighter chassis should consider models with lower core counts and smaller memory configurations.

Build Integration and Upgrade Headroom

The 13.94 by 10.55 inch footprint fits standard 16 inch laptop sleeves while the 0.90 to 1.21 inch profile leaves room in most backpacks. Dual M.2 slots are fully populated at 8 TB total so storage expansion requires drive replacement rather than simple addition. The factory applied Gelid GC Extreme and Conductonaut thermal compounds aim to sustain boost clocks under load without user intervention.

Questions about this item

Do I need to buy any extra RAM modules to reach the 96 GB DDR5 5600 MHz capacity?

No. The laptop ships with two 48 GB DDR5 5600 MHz modules already installed, filling both SO-DIMM slots for dual-channel operation.

Can I keep using my current PCIe 3.0 NVMe drives in the second M.2 slot alongside the factory 8 TB PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD?

Yes. The second M.2 slot supports PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe and is backward compatible with PCIe 3.0 drives, so existing SSDs will function at their rated speed.

How can I verify the RTX 5060 8 GB GDDR7 GPU is running at full performance after setup?

Open the NVIDIA control panel or GPU-Z and confirm the GPU shows 8 GB GDDR7 memory and the driver reports the RTX 5060 name with current clock speeds under load.
