ASUS ROG Strix Helios GX601 Gaming Desktop

This ASUS ROG Strix Helios GX601 is a liquid-cooled gaming desktop built around a Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor with 16 cores at 4.7GHz and an NVIDIA RTX 5080 graphics card with 16GB GDDR7 memory. It ships with 128GB DDR5 RAM, a 2TB NVMe SSD plus a 2TB SATA HDD, a 1000W power supply and Windows 11 Home. It suits enthusiasts who want a ready-to-play system for high-refresh gaming and heavy multitasking.

Sustained load behaviour with 360mm liquid cooling

The included 360mm liquid cooler keeps the Ryzen 7 9800X3D at stable temperatures during extended sessions, preventing thermal throttling that shorter bursts might hide. The RTX 5080 maintains its boost clocks under continuous 4K or VR workloads thanks to the chassis airflow design. The 1000W power supply delivers consistent current to both components without dipping under combined peak draw. Memory and storage speeds remain steady because the cooling loop covers the CPU directly.

Installation notes and common pitfalls

The system arrives fully assembled and tested so installation is limited to unpacking, connecting peripherals and powering on. Builders must ensure the 360mm radiator orientation matches their desk space because the chassis is sized for that cooler. The four DDR5 slots are fully populated so future memory upgrades require replacing existing modules. Buyers who want more storage bays than the single NVMe and single 3.5-inch SATA drive provided should plan external solutions.
