System overview

The ASUS ROG Strix Helios GX601 White is a liquid-cooled gaming desktop built around an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16-core processor and a Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card with 16GB GDDR6 memory. It ships with Windows 11 Home, 64GB of DDR5 RAM and a combined 2TB NVMe SSD plus 2TB SATA HDD. The 850W power supply and 360mm liquid cooler support sustained high-load operation.

Processor specification

The single specification that decides fit is the AM5 socket AMD Ryzen 9 9950X running at a 4.3GHz base frequency with 16 cores. This CPU targets users who need maximum multi-thread throughput for rendering, compilation or heavy multitasking alongside gaming. Buyers who need a different socket, a lower core count or an Intel platform cannot use this system.

Sustained load behaviour

A 360mm liquid cooler and an 850W power supply are fitted to manage heat and power draw during extended sessions. The cooling solution is designed to keep the 16-core CPU and the RX 9070 XT GPU at stable clocks without thermal throttling. Users who require passive operation or a smaller chassis footprint will find this configuration unsuitable.

Questions about this item

How does the 4.3GHz base clock on the Ryzen 9 9950X behave under sustained gaming loads?

The 16-core processor maintains its 4.3GHz base frequency across all cores, while the 360mm liquid cooler keeps temperatures low enough for extended boost periods during heavy gameplay.

What bandwidth limit does the PCI Express x16 slot impose on the Radeon RX 9070 XT?

The card runs on a full PCI Express x16 link, so the 16GB GDDR6 frame buffer is fed without the bottlenecks seen on x8 or x4 connections.

Will the 360mm liquid cooler fit inside the GX601 chassis without blocking the 850W power supply cables?

Yes — the case is designed around a 360mm radiator mount, leaving clearance for the 850W unit and its cables in the standard layout.
