macOS Users Limited to Single-Stream Video

The switch works with Windows and Linux systems that support MST for true dual-monitor extended desktops. On macOS the USB-C port only delivers SST, so both screens show the same image or only one screen is active. Buyers who need independent extended displays on a Mac should look elsewhere. HDMI cables must stay under 6.56 feet for reliable 4K 60 Hz signals.

Dock-Style Expansion Frees Laptop Ports

Three USB 3.0 ports and one USB-C port run at 5 Gbps, letting the two computers share a keyboard, mouse, printer, scanner, webcam or external drive without replugging. An 80 W Power Delivery port charges the laptop while it is the active host. The external 12 V adapter powers the switch itself, so high-draw USB devices such as hard drives stay stable even when the laptop is not selected.
