One-to-two optical splitter

The avedio links optical audio splitter takes a single TOSLINK input and duplicates it to two female TOSLINK outputs. It passes uncompressed PCM 2.0 and 5.1 channel formats including Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD High Resolution. The device is powered by the incoming optical signal and requires no external supply.

Replaces basic Y-cables

A simple passive Y-cable often degrades the light signal and prevents simultaneous use of both outputs. This active splitter maintains signal integrity up to 40 metres or 150 feet per output with loss controlled to .2 dB per metre. The jump is worth it when you need two soundbars, headsets or converters driven from one source without dropouts.

Suits dual-listening setups

Gamers and home-theatre users who want a soundbar and a wireless headphone adapter running at independent volumes will benefit. Buyers who need to split an HDMI-embedded audio stream or extract ARC audio should look at a dedicated HDMI audio extractor instead.

Questions about this item

How far can the optical cables run from the splitter to each output device?

The splitter supports transmission up to 150 ft or 40 m per output, with loss kept within .2 dB per metre.

What is the correct way to connect the single source and two destinations to the TOSLINK ports?

Insert the source cable into the single male input port, then connect each receiving device to the two female output ports; the unit is passive so no power adapter is required.

Will the gold-plated TOSLINK connectors need cleaning or replacement over time?

The gold-plated connectors resist corrosion, so routine cleaning is not required; simply keep the port covers on when cables are disconnected to avoid dust buildup.
