IX Series Video Door Station

The AVI-8 IX-DVM is a wired IP video door station built for the IX Series intercom line. It captures 1280 × 720HD footage through a fixed 1/3.8" colour CMOS sensor. Power arrives over a single Ethernet cable using IEEE 802.3af/at Class 0 PoE, drawing 4.6 W maximum. The enclosure meets IP54 ingress protection and IK07 impact resistance for outdoor mounting.

Suits PoE door entry; not for analogue or Wi-Fi

Installers running an IX Series system gain a weather-rated door station with G.711 and G.722 wideband audio and a 24 V AC/DC relay output for lock control. The unit needs PoE infrastructure and IX Series head-end hardware. Projects using analogue wiring, standalone Wi-Fi cameras or third-party SIP platforms cannot integrate this device.

1280 × 720HD fixed camera resolution

The built-in 1/3.8" CMOS sensor delivers a 1280 × 720HD picture at a fixed angle. No optical zoom, varifocal lens or higher-resolution sensor is present. If the entry point demands wider dynamic range, motorised zoom or 1080p and above, a different camera specification is required.

Questions about this item

Should I choose a different IX Series model or is this IX-DVM the right one for a single-door entry?

The IX-DVM is a single-door video station with a fixed 1280 × 720HD camera and PoE power, so it covers one entrance without extra cabling.

What does the 1280 × 720HD resolution look like on a monitor or phone app?

The 1/3.8" CMOS sensor delivers a 720p image at 1280 × 720 pixels, giving clear facial detail at typical door distances.

Does the PoE port follow IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at, and what does that limit?

It supports both IEEE 802.3af and 802.3at Class 0, drawing up to 4.6 W over the Ethernet cable.
