Axiom 25GBase-SR SFP28 module

This Axiom module is a 25GBase-SR SFP28 transceiver designed for optical networking and data networking applications. It connects via a single LC/PC duplex interface and operates over multi-mode fibre.

Suited for 25G multi-mode links

The module suits network operators deploying 25 Gigabit Ethernet over 50 µm multi-mode fibre infrastructure. It is not for environments that require single-mode fibre reach or interfaces other than LC/PC duplex.

25GBase-SR over 50 µm multi-mode fibre

The decisive specification is the 25GBase-SR standard on 50 µm multi-mode fibre with an LC/PC duplex connector. Confirm the switch port supports this exact standard and fibre type before purchase.

Questions about this item

Will the 25GBase-SR module fit a standard SFP28 cage with an LC duplex patch panel?

Yes, the module uses the SFP28 form factor and presents a single LC/PC duplex port that matches standard multi-mode patch panels.

What is the correct insertion sequence to avoid damaging the LC/PC duplex connector?

Remove the dust caps, align the keyed LC duplex connector with the module port, and push straight in until the latch clicks; do not force the cable at an angle.

When should the 50 µm multi-mode fibre patch cord be replaced to maintain 25G performance?

Replace the patch cord if the end-face inspection shows scratches, contamination, or if insertion loss exceeds the link budget for 25GBase-SR.
