8 HDMI Input Live Switcher

The Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini Extreme is an 8-input live production switcher built for streaming and broadcast workflows. It accepts eight HDMI type A sources up to 1080p60 with 10-bit 4:2:2 sampling. Each input includes independent frame rate and format converters plus re-sync for glitch-free switching between cameras, consoles and computers.

Suited for Multi-Source Streamers

Creators managing several cameras, game feeds and graphics simultaneously will use the four upstream keyers, two downstream keyers and two DVE engines for picture-in-picture. The USB webcam output simplifies direct connection to streaming software. Productions requiring SDI connectivity or 4K resolution should evaluate other models.

1080p60 HDMI Input Limit

Every video input is limited to a maximum of 1080p60, so the switcher cannot ingest or pass 4K signals. Buyers needing higher resolution pipelines must select a different production switcher.

Questions about this item

Can I connect my older 1080p60 cameras directly to the eight HDMI inputs without extra converters?

Yes, each of the eight HDMI type A inputs accepts 1080p60 signals and includes its own frame rate and format converter plus re-sync, so mixed sources switch cleanly.

How do I confirm the switcher is streaming correctly after I plug it in?

The USB output presents the program feed as a standard webcam device, so any streaming software that recognises a webcam will show the live output immediately.

Does the box include HDMI cables or a power supply, or do I need to buy them separately?

The unit ships with a power supply; HDMI cables for the eight inputs and the two outputs are not included and must be sourced separately.
