Single-zone audio monitoring kit

The Bluecctv AD-1 kit provides a complete single-zone audio monitoring system for security installations. It includes a Verifact “A” ceiling microphone, an APR-1 desktop base station with a 3-inch speaker, the AD-1 power supply, and dual RCA connector cables. The kit is designed to interface directly with a DVR or VCR for live monitoring and playback.

Sustained operation with time-lapse filtering

The base station incorporates special built-in filtering that enhances audio playback from a 24 hour time-lapse recorder during extended recording sessions. The electret condenser microphone captures normal sounds approximately 15 feet away, covering a 30 feet diameter circle, and the microphone-to-base distance can reach up to 1,000 feet using 22/2 shielded wire.

Verify cabling and recorder compatibility

Before ordering, confirm that your existing recorder accepts an RCA audio input for the base station connection. Ensure you can supply 22/2 shielded wire for the microphone run, as this specific cable type is required and not included in the kit. Check that a ceiling mount location is available within the stated pickup range.

Questions about this item

Does the AD-1 power supply run hot or add noticeable noise when the kit operates continuously?

The AD-1 power supply is a compact desktop unit that powers the base station and microphone; it has no fan and draws low current, so heat and audible noise are minimal during all-day use.

What existing cabling must I already have in place to install the Verifact A microphone?

You need 22/2 shielded wire run from the ceiling microphone location to the base station, up to 1,000 ft, plus a nearby mains outlet for the AD-1 supply.

Will the dual RCA outputs on the APR-1 base station connect directly to an older VCR that only has composite audio inputs?

Yes, the supplied dual RCA cables plug straight into a VCR or DVR composite audio input, and the base station's built-in filtering improves playback from 24-hour time-lapse recordings.
