Drop-In Ceiling Speaker

Bogen's CSD2X2VRU is a full-range in-ceiling speaker designed for commercial and residential installations. The 24 by 24 inch form factor fits directly into standard ceiling grids. It targets installers who need a fast, tool-free drop-in solution for background music or paging systems.

Included Support Rail

The package contains two speakers and a crossbar support rail. This rail enables installation in 2 by 4 foot ceiling grids with only a single tile cut. In standard 2 by 2 foot grids, the speaker drops in without cutting tiles or using extra rails, reducing labour time and material cost.

Build and Connectors

The unit weighs approximately 12 lb and measures 4.9 inches in height. An 8-inch paper driver delivers a frequency response from 95 Hz to 20 kHz. The shallow depth suits ceilings with limited plenum space, while the drop-in design simplifies alignment and removal for maintenance.

Questions about this item

Will the 8-inch paper driver need any special care or replacement over time?

The paper cone is a passive component with no service interval; it only requires replacement if physical damage or moisture exposure occurs.

What limits output first during continuous playback?

The 95 Hz low-frequency roll-off means deep bass content will attenuate before the driver reaches its thermal limit.

Does the speaker generate noticeable heat or noise when run all day?

As a passive in-ceiling unit it produces no audible self-noise and negligible heat; any warmth comes from the connected amplifier.
