- Connects a Mini SAS host to four SATA drives
- 12 Gb/s transfer rate for high-throughput storage
- 90-degree SATA plugs ease routing in tight spaces
- 3 ft length suits standard chassis layouts
- SFF-8643 connector enables dense internal port layouts
Connection Type
This BUCIER cable links a Mini SAS SFF-8643 host port on a motherboard or RAID controller to four SATA hard drives. The 90-degree SATA connectors help routing in tight chassis spaces. It supports 12 Gb SAS signalling for high-throughput storage arrays.
Upgrade Path
The assembly replaces older 6 Gb SAS-to-SATA breakout cables when the host side uses the denser SFF-8643 interface. The jump is worth it when the controller and drives both operate at 12 Gb and the backplane is not the connection point.
Target Builder
Suits administrators wiring internal drive bays directly to a RAID card with SFF-8643 ports. Not for installations where the SFF-8643 connector sits on a backplane or expander, as the host-target orientation prevents that topology.

Questions about this item
What clearance does the 90-degree SATA connector need at the drive end?
The right-angle SATA plugs extend roughly 12 mm from the drive edge, so allow at least that much space behind each 3.5" or 2.5" bay.
Which side of the SFF-8643 plug goes to the controller and which to the backplane?
The SFF-8643 end is wired as host; plug it into the motherboard or RAID controller Mini SAS port, not into a backplane.
When should the cable be replaced in a 12 Gb SAS environment?
Replace it if the latch tabs crack, the 90° moulding splits, or intermittent link errors appear on any of the four SATA lanes.
