Ultra-slim 10G Cat6a patch cable

This 7 ft Cat6a cable delivers 10 Gigabit Ethernet in a 4.0 mm jacket that is far thinner than standard 6.9 mm cords. The slim profile targets installers working in high-density patch panels, server racks and data center cabinets where space and airflow are at a premium. It terminates in RJ45 plugs with 50-micron gold-plated contacts on 28 AWG bare copper conductors.

Snagless boot and gold contacts

A transparent slim snagless boot protects the locking clip during routing and re-patching, keeping dense bundles tidy and reducing the chance of accidental disconnects. The 50-micron gold plating on the 8P8C contacts lowers contact resistance and resists corrosion for long-term signal integrity. Four twisted pairs maintain the crosstalk performance required by the Cat6a standard.

100 metre channel limit and UTP constraints

The Cat6a standard guarantees 10GBASE-T up to 100 metres at 500 MHz, so this patch cord must be used within a channel that respects that total length budget. As an unshielded UTP cable it relies on balanced twisted-pair design rather than foil or braid, making it more susceptible to external noise in electrically harsh environments. Installers needing shielded runs or longer single-cable spans will need a different construction.
