It is not suited for long horizontal runs or desktop connections that require standard cable lengths.

10GBASE-T headroom at 500 MHz

Rated to the Cat6a standard, the cable supports 10GBASE-T up to 100 metres at 500 MHz and remains fully backward compatible with Cat6 and Cat5e equipment. Four twisted pairs and 50-micron gold-plated RJ45 contacts maintain low-resistance, corrosion-resistant connections while reducing crosstalk. In a six-inch length the link budget is essentially unlimited, so the cable handles any short-haul 10 Gigabit link without signal degradation. It cannot replace longer permanent-link cabling where the 100-metre channel limit applies.
