8 ft IEC C14 to C13 Power Extension

This 8 ft yellow power extension cord adds reach between a rack PDU, UPS or server and your existing C13 power cord. The male IEC 60320 C14 plug connects to the power source while the female C13 socket accepts standard equipment cords. It uses 18 AWG SJT-jacketed 3-conductor copper rated for 10 A at 250 V and a 105°C / 300 V cable rating. The cord is UL Listed and CSA certified (file E210037) and RoHS compliant.

Check Connector Type and Current Draw

Verify that your power source provides a C14 inlet and that your equipment uses a C13 plug before ordering. The 18 AWG conductors are rated for up to 10 A, so confirm your connected load does not exceed this limit. For higher-draw servers or PDUs the supplier notes that 16 AWG handles up to 13 A, 14 AWG up to 15 A and 12 AWG up to 20 A. Ensure the yellow SJT jacket suits your rack colour-coding scheme.

Rack PDU and UPS Jumper Cable

The cord serves as a jumper between a PDU or UPS outlet and server, switch or AV gear power cords, freeing you from short factory leads. Its standard IEC 60320 C14/C13 connectors fit typical rack and data-centre equipment without adapters. The yellow jacket helps trace circuits and phases at a glance during maintenance. It is not suited for loads above 10 A or for non-IEC power connections.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and does the cord include a C13 plug or do I need to supply my own?

The package contains one 8 ft yellow SJT extension cord with a male C14 plug on one end and a female C13 socket on the other; you supply the device cord that plugs into the C13 end.

When should I choose the 18 AWG version instead of the 16 AWG or 14 AWG options?

Choose the 18 AWG cord for loads up to 10 A such as light electronics; step up to 16 AWG for 13 A computer loads, 14 AWG for 15 A servers and PDUs, or 12 AWG for 20 A heavy-duty equipment.

What does the 10 A / 250 V rating mean when the cord is connected to a real rack PDU?

The cord safely carries up to 10 A at 250 V with its 18 AWG copper conductors and 105 °C / 300 V SJT jacket, and it is UL Listed (file E210037) and CSA certified for rack and data-centre use.
