12 ft 3.5mm Stereo Extension

The Cables Unlimited AUD-1000-12 is a 12 ft shielded audio cable with a 3.5mm female connector on one end and a 3.5mm male connector on the other. It is designed for users who need to extend the reach of existing speaker or microphone cables without replacing them.

Plug-in installation with strain relief

Installation requires only pushing the male plug into the source jack and the device plug into the female socket until both seat firmly. The moulded strain relief protects the internal conductors where the cable meets each connector, reducing the chance of intermittent sound caused by repeated bending or tugging at the joint.

Analogue 3.5mm stereo limits

The 3.5mm stereo interface carries an unbalanced analogue signal, so very long runs can pick up hum or radio-frequency noise from nearby power cables. The 12 ft length stays within a practical range for desktop use, but users needing runs through walls or across large rooms should consider balanced cabling or active extension solutions instead.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 12 ft cable is working after connecting my headphones?

Plug the male 3.5 mm end into your device and the female end into your headphones; audio should play clearly through both left and right channels without static or drop-outs.

What comes in the box and do I need any extra adapters for a 2.5 mm port?

The box contains one black 12 ft shielded stereo cable with a 3.5 mm male plug on one side and a 3.5 mm female jack on the other; a separate 2.5 mm adapter is required if your equipment uses the smaller connector.

Should I choose the AUD-1000-12 or a different length for my desktop speakers?

Select the AUD-1000-12 when you need exactly 12 ft of reach between the source and the speakers; choose a shorter or longer model from the same series if the distance is different.
