Dell 12V 3A 36W Power Adapter

This Dell adapter converts AC 100V to 240V mains input at 50Hz to 60Hz into a regulated DC 12V output rated at 3A and 36W maximum. It is designed for indoor equipment such as LED strip modules, CCTV cameras, wireless routers and similar 12V DC devices that draw up to 3A.

Barrel connector limits

The output uses a 5.5mm by 2.5mm centre-positive barrel plug that also accepts 5.5mm by 2.1mm jacks. The unit will only deliver up to 3A; if the load attempts to draw more, the adapter limits current to 3A and sustained overload will damage the supply. It is not a battery charger and must not be used with battery-powered devices.

36W maximum output

The single specification that determines suitability is the 36W maximum continuous output at 12V DC. Buyers whose equipment requires more than 36W or a voltage other than 12V DC cannot use this adapter.
