Genuine Dell OEM Ribbon Cable

This is a genuine Dell OEM replacement ribbon cable for the Alienware 17 R5 laptop. It carries the Dell part number MWKPD and the alternate designation DDR71 EDP CABLE QHD NVSR. The part is supplied new and matches exactly what is pictured by the supplier.

QHD Panel Signal Link

The cable connects the system board to the 17.3 inch QHD LCD panel at 2560 x 1440 resolution. It is designed only for the QHD screen variant and will not fit the FHD or 4K display versions of the same chassis. No additional brackets, screws or adhesive strips are included in the package.

For Alienware 17 R5 QHD Screen Repairs

This part suits technicians or owners replacing a damaged video cable on an Alienware 17 R5 equipped with the QHD panel. It is not compatible with other Alienware models, other Dell laptops, or the 17 R5 variants that use a different screen resolution. Buyers needing a cable for an FHD or 4K display should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the MWKPD ribbon cable need replacement if the display develops flicker or vertical lines?

The MWKPD is a genuine Dell OEM replacement part for the Alienware 17 R5 17.3" QHD panel; it replaces the original EDP cable when signal degradation appears.

What resolution limit does the MWKPD cable support before signal quality drops?

The cable is built for the 2560 x 1440 QHD panel used in the Alienware 17 R5 and carries the native EDP link for that resolution.

Does the MWKPD ribbon generate noticeable heat or draw extra power during all-day use?

As a passive EDP ribbon it adds no active heat or power draw; thermal load stays with the panel and GPU.
