Questions about this item

How loud or hot does the Inspiron 15 3520 get when the i5-1155G7 runs at 4.5 GHz all day?

The 41 WHr 3-cell battery and 220-nit LED panel keep thermals moderate; the quad-core i5-1155G7 boosts to 4.5 GHz only in short bursts, so sustained loads stay quiet and surface temperatures remain comfortable for desk use.

Which peripherals must I already own to use the 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 1 x USB 2.0 and HDMI 1.4 ports on this laptop?

You need USB-A devices such as mice, keyboards or flash drives, and an HDMI 1.4 cable if you plan to connect an external monitor or projector; no proprietary dock or adapter is required.

Will my existing DDR4 3200 SO-DIMM modules work if I expand the 16 GB memory up to the 32 GB maximum?

Yes — the board supports DDR4 3200 SO-DIMMs up to 32 GB total, so any compatible DDR4 3200 stick you already own can be added to the single occupied slot.
