Built for field work

The Dell Latitude 5420 Rugged is a 14.0 inch laptop with an Intel Core i7-8650U processor running at 1.90 GHz base and 4.20 GHz turbo. It ships with 32GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. The touchscreen display offers 1920 x 1080 resolution. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Sustained thermal behaviour

The chassis measures 1.29 inches in height, 13.66 inches wide and 9.63 inches deep, weighing from 4.9 lbs. This physical volume allows the quad-core CPU to maintain higher clocks during long workloads rather than throttling quickly. Optional native serial, VGA, DisplayPort or Fischer USB modules expand connectivity without external dongles.

Verify your peripherals

Check that your existing docks, monitors and legacy devices match the available ports: HDMI, USB 3.0 Type A, USB 3.0 Type C, RJ-45 gigabit Ethernet and an SD card slot. A removable PCIe storage bay simplifies drive swaps in the field. Confirm that any required optional modules such as a second serial port or Fischer connector are specified at order time.
