Built for harsh environments

The DELL Latitude 5424 Rugged is a new 14.0-inch laptop constructed to military-grade standards for field work. Its toughened chassis and qualified components withstand vibration, dust and temperature extremes. The non-touch FHD display reaches brightness levels readable in direct sunlight. It suits mobile professionals who need a durable Windows 11 Pro machine that survives tough daily handling.

Dual-drive storage layout

This unit ships with 8 GB DDR4 memory and a combined 256 GB plus 2 TB M.2 solid-state configuration. The faster 256 GB drive holds the operating system and active applications for quick boot and load times. The larger 2 TB volume provides deep capacity for project files, maps and media libraries. Users running large local databases or virtual machines will find the 8 GB RAM ceiling restrictive.

Integrated graphics thermals

The Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles 1920 x 1080 desktop output and video playback without a discrete GPU. Under typical office and field workloads the integrated solution draws modest power, helping the internal battery packs last through a full shift. Fan noise stays low during document editing and web browsing. Sustained 3D rendering or modern gaming loads will push thermal limits quickly.

Questions about this item

Will the 256 GB M.2 plus 2 TB M.2 dual SSD setup work with my existing USB 3.0 external drives?

Yes, the laptop provides USB 3.0 ports that are backward compatible with older external drives, while the internal dual M.2 SSDs handle the operating system and data storage separately.

How can I confirm the Intel Core i7-8650U is reaching its 4.20 GHz turbo speed under load?

Open Task Manager’s Performance tab or a hardware monitor and watch the CPU frequency climb toward 4.20 GHz during a sustained heavy workload such as video rendering.

Does the box include the Dell OEM charger and are any cables needed for the HDMI or DisplayPort outputs?

The Dell OEM charger is included; HDMI and DisplayPort cables are not supplied and must be purchased separately if you plan to connect external monitors.
