14.0" Touchscreen Mobile Workstation

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 14.0 inch touchscreen laptop built for professionals who need a portable Windows 10 Pro machine. It runs on an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with 32 GB DDR4 memory and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620. The dual-storage layout combines a 512 GB M.2 drive with a 2 TB secondary SSD.

Dual-Drive Upgrade Path

This configuration replaces a single-drive laptop by adding a 2 TB secondary SSD alongside the 512 GB primary M.2 unit. The jump is worth it when local project libraries, virtual machines or media caches exceed a single volume and you want them on solid-state media without external enclosures.

Build Integration

The chassis provides HDMI, DisplayPort over USB Type-C with optional Thunderbolt, three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports (one PowerShare), VGA, RJ45, SD slot and a Noble wedge lock slot. Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth handle wireless connectivity. The 1920 x 1080 IPS touchscreen supports direct input for annotation or presentation workflows.

Questions about this item

What screw pattern does the 14.0 inch IPS panel use for VESA mounting?

The chassis does not expose a VESA pattern; the display is built into the lid and secured with internal hinge screws.

Which driver must be installed before Windows 10 Pro recognises the Intel UHD Graphics 620 on the i7-8650U?

Install the Intel graphics driver first; without it the OS falls back to a basic display adapter and touch input stays inactive.

When should the 512 GB M.2 primary drive be replaced under typical write loads?

Plan replacement once the drive's SMART health indicator approaches the vendor endurance threshold, usually after several hundred terabytes written.
