Dell Latitude 5590 business laptop

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 15.6 inch business laptop built around an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor. It ships with Windows 10 Pro and targets professionals who need a reliable mobile workstation for office applications, video calls and light creative tasks. The integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles standard display output without a discrete GPU.

Storage capacity and headroom

A 512 GB M.2 drive serves as the primary boot volume while a second 2 TB solid-state drive provides bulk capacity for large project files and archives. The dual-drive layout keeps the operating system responsive even when the secondary volume fills with media assets. Eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory supports typical multitasking but will constrain heavy virtualisation or large dataset work.

Build integration and expandability

The chassis measures 14.8 inches wide by 9.87 inches deep with a front height of .9 inches and weighs 4.19 lbs. Connectivity includes HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort over USB Type-C with optional Thunderbolt, three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, an SD card slot and a Noble Wedge lock slot. The SIM tray is optional and the display is a non-touch IPS panel.

Questions about this item

Will my older VGA projector and USB 3.0 hard drive work with the Latitude 5590's ports?

Yes, the laptop includes a VGA port and three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports (one with PowerShare), so legacy displays and drives connect directly.

How can I verify the Intel Core i7-8650U is running at its 4.20 GHz boost after setup?

Open Task Manager's Performance tab and watch the CPU frequency climb to 4.20 GHz under load, confirming the quad-core processor is boosting correctly.

Does the box contain a USB-C to HDMI adapter for the DisplayPort over Type-C port?

The system ships with the laptop and power adapter only; a USB-C video adapter must be purchased separately if needed.
