Built for daily business workloads

The Dell Latitude 5590 delivers an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with 16 GB of DDR4 memory. A 15.6 inch Full HD IPS panel at 1920 x 1080 resolution provides clear visuals for office applications. Dual solid-state storage combines a 512 GB M.2 drive with a 2 TB secondary drive for ample capacity. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed.

Simple deployment with standard ports

The chassis uses common screws so IT teams can access memory or storage without proprietary tools. Connectivity includes three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports, one USB Type-C with DisplayPort, HDMI, VGA and RJ45. An optional Thunderbolt controller may be present on the Type-C port; verify before purchasing active cables. Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth handle wireless needs.

Confirm your docking and display plans

Check whether your existing dock uses the rectangular USB Type-C connector or requires the optional Thunderbolt implementation noted above. The 14.8 inch width and 4.19 lb weight suit standard laptop bags but may not fit compact sleeves. Buyers needing a touchscreen or discrete graphics should consider other models. Ensure your power adapter matches the barrel connector shown in product images.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the Intel Core i7-8650U reaches its 4.20 GHz boost after setup?

Open Task Manager Performance tab and run a heavy single-thread load; the CPU graph should show frequencies climbing toward 4.20 GHz on the i7-8650U.

The spec lists a 512 GB M.2 primary plus a 2 TB secondary SSD — are both drives installed or must I add one?

Both drives are factory-installed: the 512 GB M.2 is the primary boot drive and the 2 TB unit is the secondary DUAL SSD.

Should I choose the 16 GB DDR4 configuration or the 32 GB maximum for the Latitude 5590?

The 16 GB DDR4 fitted handles typical business workloads; select 32 GB only if you regularly run virtual machines or large datasets.
