Business ultrabook with 14.0" touchscreen

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 14.0-inch touchscreen ultrabook built for mobile professionals who need a durable, managed Windows 10 Pro device. It combines an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor with 8 GB DDR4 RAM and a 256 GB SSD for responsive everyday productivity. The IPS panel delivers 1920 x 1080 resolution with wide viewing angles for presentations or remote work. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles standard business visuals and multi-monitor setups.

Step up from dual-core or HDD systems

This configuration replaces older dual-core ultrabooks or mechanical-drive laptops that struggle with modern multitasking and slow boot times. The jump is worth it when your workload includes simultaneous Office apps, browser tabs and video calls on a single charge. Buyers who need discrete graphics for CAD rendering or dedicated gaming performance should look elsewhere. The 256 GB SSD capacity also limits users with large local media libraries or virtual machine images.

Sustained performance in a thin chassis

Under continuous load the quad-core i7-8650U maintains clocks near its 1.90 GHz base with turbo bursts up to 4.20 GHz while the fan manages thermals within the slim profile. The 8 MB L2 cache helps keep frequent data close during extended compile or spreadsheet sessions. Battery life scales with screen brightness and background sync activity typical of managed fleet deployments. Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth provide stable peripheral and network connectivity throughout the day.

Questions about this item

Does the 14.8-inch wide chassis fit a standard laptop sleeve?

The chassis measures 14.8 inches wide, 9.87 inches deep and 0.9 inches high at the front, so a sleeve sized for a 15.6-inch class notebook will accommodate it.

Which screw must be removed before the bottom cover lifts during an SSD upgrade?

Remove all perimeter screws, then gently pry from the front edge; the hidden screw under the centre rubber foot is the one most people miss.

When should the 256 GB SSD be replaced to avoid capacity limits?

Plan a larger SSD when free space drops below roughly 45 GB to maintain write performance and leave room for Windows updates.
