14.0" FHD Touch Ultrabook

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 14.0 inch Full HD touchscreen laptop powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8650U quad-core processor. It comes with 16 GB DDR4 RAM and a 256 GB SSD running Windows 11 Pro. This configuration suits mobile professionals who need a responsive display and reliable performance for office applications and video calls.

Ports, Connectivity and Display

Integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 drives the 1920 x 1080 IPS touchscreen and external monitors via HDMI and DisplayPort over USB Type-C. Three USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports include one with PowerShare for charging devices while the laptop sleeps. Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth handle wireless networking, while an SD slot and optional SIM tray add flexible data and mobile broadband options.

Capacity and Headroom

The 16 GB DDR4 memory handles multitasking across browser tabs, documents and conferencing tools without slowdown. The 256 GB SSD provides fast boot and load times for the operating system and core programs. Users working with large media libraries or virtual machines will find the storage limiting and the integrated graphics unsuitable for 3D rendering or gaming workloads.

Questions about this item

Will the 256 GB SSD need to be upgraded for more storage later?

The 256 GB SSD is the only drive installed; the laptop includes an SD card slot and USB 3.0 ports for external storage expansion if the internal capacity becomes limiting.

What thermal limit appears first when the i7-8650U runs sustained workloads?

The quad-core i7-8650U operates at a 1.90 GHz base with a 4.20 GHz turbo; under continuous load the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620 and CPU share the same cooling, so the processor will throttle its turbo frequency first to manage heat.

How loud and hot does the 14.0" touchscreen model get during an all-day work session?

The 4.19 lb chassis uses a single fan to cool the 15 W processor; typical office use keeps the keyboard deck warm but comfortable and the fan at a low, steady hum.
