Target professional laptop

The Dell Latitude 5590 is a 15.6 inch Full HD business notebook built around an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor. It ships with 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB solid-state drive. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed for immediate deployment in managed environments.

Integrated graphics and port selection

Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles the 1920 x 1080 IPS panel without a discrete GPU, keeping power draw low for mobile use. Connectivity covers HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort over USB-C, three USB 3.1 Gen1 ports (one with PowerShare), RJ45, an SD slot and a combo audio jack. Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth provide wireless links.

Performance and upgrade limits

The U-series processor tops out at 3.60 GHz, suited to office applications and light multitasking rather than sustained heavy compute. Integrated graphics share system memory and cannot drive demanding 3D workloads. Storage is fixed at 256 GB with no second drive bay mentioned, so users needing large local datasets must rely on external media or cloud sync.

Questions about this item

How long does the 32 GB DDR4 soldered memory last before it needs replacement?

The 32 GB DDR4 is soldered to the board and is not user-replaceable; it is designed to last the usable life of the laptop.

Which limit appears first when the Intel Core i5-8350U runs at 3.60 GHz for extended periods?

The 15 W thermal envelope of the U-series processor causes clock-speed throttling before any other subsystem saturates.

How loud is the fan and how hot does the chassis get during an all-day workload?

Under sustained load the single fan spins up to an audible level and the bottom case reaches warm temperatures typical for a 4.19 lb ultrabook chassis.
