Dell Latitude E7440 business ultrabook

This 14-inch Dell Latitude 7000 series laptop combines a fourth-generation Intel Core i5-4200U dual-core processor with 8 GB of DDR3 memory. It ships with Windows 10 Pro and uses integrated Intel HD Graphics on a 1360 x 768 LED display. The silver chassis includes a webcam and HDMI output for external screens.

Suits mobile professionals needing legacy ports

The configuration targets users who value a traditional business layout with VGA and HDMI connections plus an optical drive. Buyers who want a touchscreen, a higher-resolution panel or a lighter chassis without an optical drive should look at something else. The integrated graphics and DDR3 platform also limit modern gaming or heavy creative workloads.

Dual-drive layout with mSATA SSD and 2.5-inch hard

The operating system resides on a 256 GB mSATA solid-state drive while a 1 TB 2.5-inch hard drive provides bulk capacity. This split gives faster boot times and ample room for large file archives without requiring a single large solid-state volume.

Questions about this item

Will my existing DDR3 SODIMM modules work alongside the installed 4 GB × 2 memory?

The laptop ships with 8 GB of DDR3 SODIMM in a 4 GB × 2 configuration, so any additional DDR3 SODIMM sticks you keep will be compatible with the same memory type.

How can I confirm the Intel HD Graphics and 1360 × 768 panel are operating correctly after first boot?

Open Device Manager to verify the Intel HD Graphics driver is loaded, then check Display Settings to ensure the resolution is set to 1360 × 768 and the external HDMI or VGA port outputs a signal.

Does the package include a DVD-RW drive and the Windows 10 Pro licence, or must I source them separately?

The system comes with a built-in DVD-RW drive and Windows 10 Pro pre-installed, so no separate purchase is required for either component.
